We invite you to the presentation of the postdoctoral research conducted by Dr. Rena Katsenou, a research member of InArts Lab, Robots Go to Kindergarten: Images of Artificial Intelligence in Early Childhood Education, on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Gousis Building (Room 011), Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University.

The Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University actively participated once again this year in the Chania Film Festival through activities coordinated by Assistant Professor Dr. Iakovos Panagopoulos and PhD Candidate Lina Petrianou. The Department’s presence, within the framework of the ongoing collaboration between the Interactive Arts Lab (InArts) and the Festival, significantly contributed to strengthening the dialogue between education, research, and audiovisual creation.

Dr. Iakovos Panagopoulos, Assistant Professor in the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University, and Coordinator of the Node for Film Praxis at InArts Lab, participates as a member of the Editorial Board of the new international online practice-based research platform in narrative cinema titled StoryLab Conversations.

We are looking for writers and researchers to contribute chapters to the upcoming Feral Labs Node Book #3: Fa Fa Futures — the final volume of the Rewilding Cultures project (Creative Europe, 2021–2026). Each writer will be paired with one Feral Labs institution and provided with curated documentation (reports, images, transcripts, contextual notes) to produce a reflective, research-informed chapter.

The Interactive Arts Lab at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University, announces four unpaid open positions for students interested in developing their skills and gaining practical experience during their studies as Lab Operators. 

Rena Katsenou, Ioannis Deliyannis, and Dalila Honorato will take part in the 17th Annual International Conference on Education, Research, and Innovation (ICERI2024), which will be held in Seville, Spain, on November 11-13, 2024.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 8:00 p.m., in Room 011 of the Ionian University (Old Psychiatric Hospital, Building of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts Secretariat), the doctoral thesis defense of Mr. Yorgos Drosos, PhD candidate of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and a member of the Interactive Arts Lab, will take place. 

We invite you to the presentation of the postdoctoral research conducted by Dr. Eleni Kolliopoulou, a research member of InArts Lab, which took place from October 2022 to September 2024. 

With that in mind, four Laboratories from three Greek Universities (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of the Aegean, and Ionian University) have collaborated to organise the biannual International Digital Storytelling Festival (DST-Zakynthos) in Zakynthos between the biannual International DST conferences.

Assoc. Prof. Dalila Honorato, Director of the InArts Lab at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, and Dr. Adam Zaretsky, a member of the InArts Lab working group in the Rewilding Cultures project, participate as guest-speakers at the Bio Art Forum taking place in Novi Sad, Serbia, on May 16-18, 2024, as part of the project Bio Awaking. 

InArts Lab - Department of Audio & Visual Arts members’ Styliani-Anna Klimatsaki, PhD Candidate, and Dalila Honorato, Associate Professor, participate with the article "Taboo in world cinema: Female protagonists in incestuous relationships” in Technoetic Arts: A Journal of Speculative Research 21:2, by the independent academic publishing house Intellect.
