The Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts Lab) is housed within the Department of Audio & Visual Arts and supports both doctoral and post-doctoral research. Research activity lies at the core of the Lab’s operations, guiding its projects, directions, and developmental strategies.
InArts Lab actively encourages collaboration with post-doctoral researchers from Greece and abroad, dynamically allocating its existing research and teaching teams to foster innovation. The Lab’s focus on doctoral studies in the broader field of artistic creation positions it as a hub for scientists and artists seeking to base their research on interactive media and audiovisual arts within a culturally rich environment.
Collaborations are essential to the Lab’s operation, including partnerships with other departments of the Ionian University, national and international institutions, private or public entities, municipalities, regional authorities, and individual artists and researchers who support the Lab’s mission and objectives.
The Lab’s primary aim is to explore audio and visual expression across the wider fields of art and mass communication, in line with the founding law of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (L. 3255/22-07-2004). Its establishment was initiated by Marianna Strapatsaki, Konstantinos Tiligadis, Dalila Honorato, Andreas Giannakoulopoulos, Giannis Deligiannis, and Tania Tsiridou.
General objectives of the Lab include:
-
Supporting the educational and research requirements of the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
-
Promoting and enhancing the visibility and activities of the Department and the Ionian University.
-
