Node for Digital Representations (NoDiR)

The Digital Representations Hub at the Interactive Arts Lab (InArts Lab) of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University explores the ways in which concepts, identities, and data are represented, mediated, and experienced in digital environments. It examines the aesthetic, cultural, ethical, and social dimensions of digital representations across a wide range of media, such as online environments, technologically generated images, virtual and augmented reality, conceptual and data visualizations, digital archives, and contemporary immersive conditions.

Particular emphasis is placed on artistic practices related to visual language and expression. By prioritizing visual and conceptual representation as an independent field of study and practice, it bridges artistic exploration with issues surrounding the production and narration of images, offering new perspectives on how digital media shape human perception and cultural narratives.
