Artificial Intelligence (AI) is evolving every day into a major field of interest, thus having a significant impact on various professional fields, including various art forms, as well as their teaching in both formal and informal education.

The Interactive Arts Lab at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University, announces four unpaid open positions for students interested in developing their skills and gaining practical experience during their studies as Lab Operators. 

Rena Katsenou, Ioannis Deliyannis, and Dalila Honorato will take part in the 17th Annual International Conference on Education, Research, and Innovation (ICERI2024), which will be held in Seville, Spain, on November 11-13, 2024.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 8:00 p.m., in Room 011 of the Ionian University (Old Psychiatric Hospital, Building of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts Secretariat), the doctoral thesis defense of Mr. Yorgos Drosos, PhD candidate of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and a member of the Interactive Arts Lab, will take place.

Το Εργαστήριο Διαδραστικών Τεχνών, στο πλαίσιο του μνημονίου συνεργασίας με το Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Χανίων, είχε δυναμική παρουσία στο φετινό φεστιβάλ, διοργανώνοντας τρία καινοτόμα εργαστήρια με θεματικές που συνδυάζουν τη διαδραστική τέχνη, τον κινηματογράφο και τις νέες τεχνολογίες. Στη δράση συμμετείχαν μέλη του διδακτικού και ερευνητικού προσωπικού του Τμήματος Τεχνών Ήχου και Εικόνας, καθώς και υποψήφιοι διδάκτορες, προσφέροντας στους συμμετέχοντες την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν νέες μεθοδολογίες και να καλλιεργήσουν τις δημιουργικές τους ικανότητες

The Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) will host a joint talk on October 23 at 11:00 AM by Dr. Prof. Dalila Honorato and Adam Zaretsky, PhD. Both are known for their unique and transgressive approaches to the intersection of art and biology. 

Dr. Heidi Hehnly-Chang (USA) and Dr. Boryana Rossa (Bulgaria/USA) from Syracuse University have been selected to participate in TTTfellows: Art and Science Residency 2024 Fall taking place on 23 September - 4 October 2024 (online) and 7-18 October 2024 in-person on the island of Corfu. TTTfellows is organized by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, within the framework of Rewilding Cultures, a project co-financed by the European Union, and will be hosted in collaboration with the Corfu Central Public Historical Library - Corfu Tech Lab, the Corfu Aquarium and BiHELab.

We invite you to the presentation of the postdoctoral research conducted by Dr. Eleni Kolliopoulou, a research member of InArts Lab, which took place from October 2022 to September 2024. 

With that in mind, four Laboratories from three Greek Universities (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of the Aegean, and Ionian University) have collaborated to organise the biannual International Digital Storytelling Festival (DST-Zakynthos) in Zakynthos between the biannual International DST conferences.
