The Interactive Arts Research Lab (InArts Lab) promotes responsible, collaborative, and participatory development in artistic research and practice, connecting art, theory, and technology with social, ecological, and economic responsibility. The Node for Film Praxis (NoFiP) is a dynamic research group dedicated to the transdisciplinary use of applied theory and audiovisual practices as collaborative methodologies.
The node's mission is to guide, train, and support researchers, integrating film directing, screenwriting, and producing with approaches from the humanities and social sciences, emphasizing participatory, socially responsible, and ethically sustainable research.
In their project Ethnomediaology with the Tejon Native American Tribe in California, it is demonstrated how participatory filmmaking research can incorporate local knowledge and cultural practices, using mobile shooting methods and amplifying the community’s voice through ethnomediaological methodology.
NoFiP participates in national and international research and development projects, focusing on the production of audiovisual and interactive content in the fields of culture, education, and entertainment. These collaborations enhance the lab’s sustainability, visibility, and social responsibility, while the node’s services create a direct link between research and production, carried out by highly skilled teams combining professional, artistic, and research expertise.
