The Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University proudly announces that the e-book with the proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference "Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art and Science 2016" has been released. The electronic edition includes more than 40 chapters, in Greek and in English, of authors from 16 different countries. Editors: Dalila Honorato and Andreas Giannakoulopoulos.

Supported by the Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts), within the framework of the second international interdisciplinary conference "Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science", organized by the Ionian University from May 26-28, 2017, the book Institutional Critique to Hospitality: Bio Art Practice Now. A critical anthology (2017) by Grigori Publications, edited by Assimina Kaniari will be presented to the public.

The intersection of Art, Biology and the Environment offer unique opportunities to visual artists. This innovative summer course, which is already on its fourth edition, will allow non-specialists to acquire theoretical and practical skills in biological and environmental sciences in connection to the visual arts.

The work of Marianna Strapatsaki, artist and former Associate Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, was chosen to be presented to the exhibition entitled "Genii Loci, Greek Art from 1930 until nowdays " at St. Petersburg from November 30th 2016 until January 9th 2017.
