The Lab

Established in 2015 within the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at Ionian University, the Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts Lab) advances research and creative practice in interactive arts. The Lab investigates dynamic visualization, audio representation of complex data, interactive multimedia, 3D digital environments, and biotechnological media.

Research and creative activity at InArts Lab is organized through Nodes—specialized internal groups that develop projects, organize events, workshops, and exhibitions, participate in funded programs, contribute to publications, and foster interdisciplinary collaborations. These Nodes enhance the Lab’s visibility and engagement both locally and internationally.

The Lab’s members include teaching staff, doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, and external collaborators with research interests aligned with InArts’ mission. Among them are internationally recognized artists, researchers, and theoretical scholars who contribute to the development of research in audiovisual, interactive, and hybrid media within the broader context of artistic creation and methodology, employing contemporary technological production tools.
