The Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges (DCAC) conference series is an international, peer-reviewed forum organized since 2018 by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, hosted in hybrid format at the historic Ionian Academy in Corfu (Greece). DCAC brings together researchers, artists, and scholars from a wide spectrum of academic and creative fields to critically explore the intersections of technology, art, and culture in the digital era. Serving both as a space for intellectual exchange and as a catalyst for new collaborations, the conference fosters transnational and interdisciplinary dialogue, encourages the sharing of research outcomes and good practices, and supports emerging partnerships across disciplines. Through oral and poster presentations, DCAC addresses contemporary questions and applications in New Media Arts and Digital Culture, encompassing themes such as algorithmic and electronic arts, artificial intelligence, audiovisual and multimedia design, film and gaming practices, digital preservation, immersive technologies (VR/AR/MR), human–computer interaction, media studies, cultural sustainability, and experimental artistic research, positioning itself as a vibrant platform for advancing critical and creative inquiry in the field.
