Claudia Boettcher graduated from the German School of Athens and, in 1990, earned her degree from the Department of History at the Ionian University.
She has collaborated with private companies as a technical consultant for the implementation of research and development projects, while also engaging in translation and editing of articles for magazines, as well as website design and web application development for individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. She worked in a similar capacity in the Department of Promotion and Communication of the Development Company of the Municipality of Corfu (2002–2003) and, from 2003 to 2004, served at the Ministry of Development as an advisor on new technologies, informatics, and electronic communication.
Since 2003, she has been employed at the Ionian University, initially in the Department of Public and International Relations, and since 2006, as a member of the Department of History’s Technical and Laboratory Staff (ETEP). From 2004 to 2011, she served as Head of the Rector’s Office. During this period, she was responsible for organizing the international seminar of university rectors Corfu Summer School (2004–2010), served as Secretary of the Department of Asian Studies, and supervised the overall editing of the Ionian University’s printed newsletter To Examino (“The Semester”).
As a member of the university’s three-person web team, she contributed to the redesign of the institution’s main website (2006, 2012) and currently manages its content, publications, and social media presence. She is also involved in developing and expanding websites for various needs of the Department of History and the university at large. Since 2013, she has been responsible for the administrative support of the Department of History’s ongoing PhD dissertations, and since October 2015, she has been teaching the course Informatics I.
