Art Residency of Kelly Tarenidi at InArts' Node of Hybrid Arts
05-08-2025 16:25
The Node of Hybrid Arts at the Interactive Arts Laboratory of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts - Ionian University welcomes Kelly Tarenidi, an artist whose practice bridges performance, visual arts and ethics. Her residency (29 July - 7 August 2025) includes the development of a new work involving a lamb brain dissection and cooking performance, exploring the sensory and symbolic dimensions of corporeality. This act—at once surgical, intimate, and culinary—will be documented by filmmaker Serafeim Parsologlou Marathias, forming part of an ongoing inquiry into the aesthetics of transformation and the ethics of consumption.
Tarenidi’s contribution will take place as part of the thematic program Cadaveresque: Dismembering, Dissecting, Detachment, a 10-day residency organized by the InArts Lab that invites artists to investigate the body in parts—fragmented, cooked, archived, or performed. Her performance opens questions around anatomical knowledge, cultural memory, and embodied practice, creating both a personal and collective ritual space.
Through these residencies, the Interactive Arts Laboratory continues to affirm its role as a host for boundary-crossing artistic research, where art, science, and embodied knowledge converge in unexpected and generative ways.
