InArts Lab Program Spotlight: BioFeral Acts – Documentary Premieres at TTT2025 Ljubljana
01-09-2025 16:18
InArts Lab's commitment to connecting artistic research with international communities takes center stage this September as we present a major program outcome from our participation in the EU-funded Rewilding Cultures project. Through our Node for Hybrid Arts, we're proud to showcase how our laboratory approach transforms artistic experimentation into tangible cultural outputs that resonate globally.
Program Achievement: BioFeral Documentary Series
As part of InArts Lab's transdisciplinary research methodology—where artists, scientists and educators collaborate in temporary creative hubs—we announce the world premiere of two documentary films at TTT2025 Ljubljana (September 9-13, 2025). These films, directed by Serafim Parsaloglou Marathias, document the culmination of our multi-year bioart research initiatives: the TTTlabs BioFeral.BeachCamp (BFBC) and the TTTfellows Art & Science Residency.
Research Impact Through Creative Documentation
The BioFeral Acts reel program, curated by Adam Zaretsky within the exhibition "Coining Utopias" at Kino Šiška, represents more than traditional documentation. These "feral archives"—spanning 2 hours of footage—capture the intersection of artistic experimentation, scientific inquiry, and social engagement that defines InArts Lab's research culture.
International Collaboration in Action
This premiere illustrates InArts Lab's dynamic partnership network within Rewilding Cultures, including collaborations with Bioart Society (Finland), Schmiede Hallein (Austria), ART2M (France), Radiona (Croatia), Cultivamos Cultura (Portugal), Culture Yard (Denmark), and Projekt Atol (Slovenia). The program opens pathways for our researchers and students to engage with cutting-edge, community-driven projects worldwide.
Additionally, the September 10 roundtable "DIY Garage GMO Baby Production" brings together international participants from our residencies, demonstrating how InArts Lab facilitates critical discourse on bioethics, democratized access to reproductive technologies, and expanded artistic interventions beyond traditional institutional frameworks.
