The Volunteer Blood Donor Society of the Ionian University, in collaboration with the Blood Donation Department of the General Hospital of Corfu and the Medical–Surgical Society of Corfu, announces the organization of a voluntary blood donation day on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at the Galinós Building (former psychiatric hospital, Donatou Dimoulitsa 74), from 09:00 to 13:30.
The initiative is supported by the Volunteer Blood Donors & Bone Marrow Donors Society of Corfu “Pandótis,” member of the Panhellenic Federation of Volunteer Blood Donor Associations.

This action represents an important gesture of social contribution, strengthening local blood reserves and offering essential support to patients in need. The participation of volunteers nurtures a culture of solidarity within the university community, giving everyone the opportunity to make a meaningful and potentially life-saving contribution. The procedure is safe, brief, and fully supervised by qualified medical staff.

In parallel, Pandótis—a collaborating node of the Bone Marrow Donor Center of the University of Patras (KEDMOP) “Give Life”—will conduct information sessions and registrations for new volunteer bone marrow donors. A simple registration may become the first step toward saving a life.

Coordinator of the Volunteer Blood Donor Society of the Ionian University is InArts' Coordinator of the InArts' Node for Film Praxis (NoFiP) Dr. Iakovos Panagopoulos, Assistant Professor at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts.
