The Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts Lab) of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts will participate in the Ionian University Research Day 2026, which will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 (11:00–21:00) in the specially configured covered space of the Corfu Port Authority (OLKE). The event is an important initiative aimed at highlighting and disseminating the research activity of Ionian University, bringing the public into contact with research projects and artistic practices developed within the departments and laboratories of the institution.

InArts Lab will participate at the stand of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts presenting selected examples of research through artistic practice developed through international collaborations and interdisciplinary projects. The laboratory presentation includes:

- A digital installation with academic publications through which visitors can browse five electronic volumes from the international series Taboo–Transgression–Transcendence in Art & Science (TTT since 2016), documenting more than ten years of interdisciplinary research in the fields of art, science, and technology.

- A video installation documenting the TTTfellows: Art & Science Residency programme implemented at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts within the framework of the European project Creative Europe – Rewilding Cultures (2022–2026). The screenings present research-through-practice processes where artistic creation meets biotechnology and scientific research.

As part of the event, a presentation session of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (16:20–16:40) will also take place, presenting selected research activities of the Department, including the presentation of the Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts Lab) by Marily Argyrokastriti, coordinator of the laboratory’s new research group Node for Gender Equity & Inclusion.

The event also includes the keynote lecture by the Honorary Doctor of the Department of Informatics of Ionian University, Professor Nektarios Tavernarakis, as well as the presentation of the “Markos Avlonitis” research award.

Research Day 2026 is an open invitation to the public to discover the research developed at Ionian University and to engage with researchers about the ideas and practices that shape the future of knowledge.
