On ThursdayNovember 25th10:00am (classroom 11), as part of the course "THE906-Practice of Exhibition Design", we will have the pleasure to have Dr Adam Zaretsky, collaborating artist of InArts Lab, at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University on a guest lecture entitled “IT'S ALIVE! Understanding bio-art: art and biology exhibited.

Dr. Adam Zaretsky is a bioartist and a Wet-Lab Art Practitioner mixing ecology, biotechnology, non-human relations, body performance and gastronomy. He is the founder and Director of the NADLinc Foundation in New York.

Dr Adam Zaretsky stages lively, hands-on bioart production labs based on topics such as: foreign species invasion(pure/impure), radical food science (edible/inedible), bioinformatics (code/flesh), tissue culture (undead/semi-alive), transgenic design issues (traits/desires), interactive ethology (person/machine/non-human) and physiology (performance/stress).  He is a former researcher at the MIT department of biology.
