Η εικαστικός Μαριάννα Στραπατσάκη, η οποία διετέλεσε Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια και Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Τεχνών Ήχου και Εικόνας του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου, θα παρουσιάσει μια ανασκόπηση του καλλιτεχνικού της έργου στα πλαίσια του μαθήματος «Εγκαταστάσεις και Οπτικοακουστικά μέσα» την Τετάρτη 4 Μαρτίου, ώρα 7-9 μ.μ.στην αίθουσα 3 (Αρεταίος). Μετά την παρουσίαση θα ακολουθήσει συζήτηση με τους φοιτητές του Η’ εξαμήνου.

Η εικαστικός Μαριάννα Στραπατσάκη διετέλεσε Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια και Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Τεχνών Ήχου και Εικόνας του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου. "Ήταν η πρώτη εικαστικός της χώρας που ενσωμάτωσε την τέχνη τού βίντεο σε καλλιτεχνικό έργο. Είναι μια γυναίκα που φρόντισε να ζήσει το Παρίσι – τέλη δεκαετίας του ’60 – όταν εκείνο καιγόταν για περισσότερο αντικομφορμισμό, ανεπανάληπτη ελευθερία στις ανθρώπινες σχέσεις" [...] (Fractal).

Thursday, December 4th, 2014 and 5 o'clock in the afternoon, in classroom 3, the artist Max Philipp Schmid will present his project in a two-hour speech at the Department of Audio and Vidual Arts. Also, the curator Chantal Molleur will present a Swiss video-artist panorama.

Title of the exhibition: Frenetic Standstill

Frenetic Standstill encompass three video installations; Wald (Forest 2007), Der Wanderer (The Wanderer 2007) and Das Gespenst des Glücks (The Ghost of Happiness 2011).

The exhibition “Myths, memories and mysteries: how artists respond to the past” in which the Video Artist and President of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Assistant Professor Marianna Strapatsaki participates in a production comprised of three painting works and one video inspired by the Byzantine era. The works will be presented from 1 July until 23 October 2014 at the Musem of Classical Archaelogy, Cambridge.

The work of Associate Professor and Director of the Interactive Arts Lab Marianna Strapatsaki, “Invisible Places- Infinite White” has been featured in the issue March-April 2014 of the magazine 24 Images, in the article “Visions cosmiques du Québec, de Grèce et de Palestine” (Cosmic Visions of Quebec, Greece and Palestine) by Marc Mercier. Mr. Mercier is a director, writer and a video art critic.

By initiative of the InArts Lab, a lecture and workshop on graphic design by guest artist graphic designer Paola Soel will take place the 4th and 5th of April 2014 at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts.
