On Thursday 10 January 2019, Bill Psarras (Dr.) artist and current postdoctoral researcher (funded by IKY State Foundation 2017-2019) at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University, will give an invited artist talk entitled "Performing the Poetic and the Technological: Objects and aesthetic walking into place".

Τhe "THE OX" of the graduate of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and doctoral candidate, George Nikopoulos, is the only Greek production that competes for the Emile Awards 2018 / European Animation Awards in the category of "Best Soundtrack in a Feature Film". The soundtrack is composed by Dimitra Trypani, Assistant Professor of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University.

The scientific collaborator of Interactive Arts Lab (InArts), Iakovos Panagopoulos, completed a research in California on behalf of AHRC StoryLab Film Development Research Network.

The final program of the Third Interdisciplinary Conference "Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science" has just been released. The conference is hosted by the Centro de Cultura Digital (CCD) on November 11th and by the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosoficas at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IIFs-UNAM) on November 12-13th.

Bill Psarras, artist and current postdoctoral researcher of InArts Lab has been invited to speak at the forthcoming international conference "Space, Sound and the Improvisatory" organised by Onassis Cultural Centre, with the talk "Metaphors for Walking: 'Tuning' space, senses and imagination" and which will take place at the same building during 19-21 October 2018, in Athens.

The ebook with the proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science 2017 was published by the Ionian University - Department of Audio & Visual Arts in September 2018. Edited by Dalila Honorato and Andreas Giannakoulopoulos, this is the second and main core of the presentations of TTT2017.

Bill Psarras, artist and currently postdoctoral researcher at the InArts lab of the Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts, will be giving a conference talk entitled "Performing borders and conflict zones: Body, action and imagination towards poetic interventions", at the "Area Studies in Flux", which will take place at UCL (London, 27-29/9/2018).

Marianna Strapatsakis, artist and former Associate Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University will present her work at the exhibition entitled Shell // the politics of being at the 15th Kypseli High School in Athens. Exhibition opening: 26 June 2018 | 17.00 - 21.00. Exhibition duration: 26 June - 24 July 2018.

On Wednesday 25 April 2018 at 17.00, Dr. Bill Psarras (artist, postdoctoral researcher and member of InArts Lab) will give a guest lecture as part of the ‘Semiotic Analysis of New Media’ course, of the MA in Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age (Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts).

Το 13ο ATHENS ANIMFEST [15-18 Μαρτίου 2018] διοργανώνεται για μια ακόμη χρονιά στην Αθήνα με περισσότερες από 350 ταινίες animation μικρού μήκους από την Ελλάδα και άλλες 51 χώρες. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι στο πρόγραμμά του εντάσσονται έργα αποφοίτων και φοιτητών του Τμήματος Τεχνών Ήχου και Εικόνας του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου.

FEMeeting 2018 is a conference co-organised by Cultivamos Cultura, CIC Digital of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa.
